Ive been trying to upload this post for days! What happened tumblr!?

Anywho; my first amigurumi doll is finished! I’m pretty pleased with how she turned out, but I am tempted to have another try at stitching her mouth. I’ll keep staring at her and see how I feel. 😊

After that I decided to cross another thing off my list. I’ve been meaning to try these button flowers for months! They’re actually really easy and addictive. I had to force myself to stop making them so I can move on to another project. Lol

Last but not least is my recently acquired upholstery fabric. I found a sample fabric book in a charity shop and was so thrilled I squealed! I’ve been hoping to come across one of these for ages and can’t wait to make something using this gorgeous fabric. I see a lot more zipper pouches in my future. 😉

So much to do and so little time!
Now that I’m on summer break I’ve been trying to get as much as I can done before I’m back to college in august. I’ve successfully completed all my clothes mending and alterations and am now working on my business.

I always have a project bag and craft pouch/purse with me and the black and white one you see there is my favorite because it’s cute and has handles. ☺ I’ve never used the purse that came with it though because it’s flat and doesn’t zip all the way. While finishing my quilt yesterday I had a light bulb moment. I said “Zu you idiot, you can sew! Fix the bloody purse!”
So I boxed the bottom and it can now stand up while holding all my crochet hooks and supplies. I also stitched the top left corner so the zipper can be pulled right to the end. I’m a happy camper with a matching and usable set now! 😀

On the business side of things I’m working on a new sun hat crochet pattern and hope to have it released sometime next week. Feels good to be crocheting again!

I have an aloe plant that I keep in my kitchen window, and over the past month it has turned red. I thought it was pretty but looked it up online to see if it was a good or bad thing. Apparently it’s bad, my poor aloe was sun burnt. I didn’t even know that could happen! I took my burnt aloe out of direct sunlight in the morning, and by night fall it had already started to turn back to green. A couple of days later and it’s almost completely back to normal! It’s amazing how fast it’s happened and I’m sooo glad I didn’t kill my aloe.

I’m also keeping a close eye on my other plants and all seem fine except my slenderette bean plant with wind and cold damage. Looks like I’ll be pulling it up and planting asparagus instead. The Japanese Maple hasn’t grown since I bought it a couple months ago, so that’s another one I’m worried about.

My beets, cilantro, carrots, 2 types of lettuce, basil, Swiss chard, spinach, mustard greens, jalapeño peppers, sugar snap peas, mint, 2 types of fuchsias, chili peppers, parsley, thyme, lavender, lemon balm, radishes, coleus, potatoes, nasturtiums, lilies, morning glorys, italian firs, snapdragons, poppies, sweet peas, kale and geraniums are all growing well. I’m still waiting on 4 or 5 other pepper plant varieties and various flowers to sprout. There are a few mystery plants as well that I never labelled and forgot what they were, so I will be pleasantly surprised by those in due time. Once I start something I just dive right on in. Lol

Now, back to work! ☺☺

Progress!!
So far the main pieces of this bed are complete. The one drawback of this tshirt yarn is there are tons of ends to weave in!
After doing that I can get to putting it all together!!

My finished cowl! I was going to make one that’s longer so I can double wrap it, but the lure of instant gratification was just too great. I was going to either sell it or give it as a gift, but I loved the colours too much to part with it. A little selfish crocheting is healthy right?! Hehe
